Part 21 Corinthians 8:5 -6 “For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"),yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.””

This verse claims that Jesus is Lord, but that God did things through him, and created all that exists. Why is a distinction made between God and Jesus here if they are the same entity?  This idea also contradicts tons of verses that say that Jesus couldn’t do anything of his own will, and did not have omnipotence, or omniscience. Jesus was an intermediary between man and God, because he guided people to worship God. Lord was a title given to people of noble character, land owners, and others. It was seen as an honorary title of status, and didn’t mean “God” literally.  Many people were called “Lord” in the Bible.

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

In this verse, Jesus is called “Mighty God”, plain and clear. However it contradicts hundreds of other verses in the Bible that describe and explain otherwise.

Philippians 2:5-13 “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

This selection has lots of problematic statements that contradict tons of verses in this series. 1- That he existed in the form of God, yet other verses have him distinguishing himself as not being God, not being omnipotent, or having omniscience. 2- States he is not equal to God. 3- Humbled himself. 4- became obedient – is God capable of being disobedient to himself? 5 – God dies. 6- God exalted him? But isn’t he God? Does God exalt himself? 7- God says people will bow to Jesus, but other verses say there would be none on Earth like him ever. 8- God is in you, so does that make you God too?

(These claims all contradict Colossians 1:19 “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him”)

Qur’an 4:171 “O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”
