Is Jesus God? Part 7 - "No God but God – No person is even like God"

By: Shannon Abulnasr © 2017

Return to Part 6 - "Jesus was son of MAN (Mankind)"

1 Chronicles 17:20 “There is no one like you, LORD, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.”

No one is like the LORD God, and there is no GOD but God.  It clarifies that there is not only no other god, but also no other (as in person).  Jesus is not like God, nor is he God. (See also 2 Samuel 7:22 )

Deuteronomy 4:35 “You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.”

There is none like God - no other.

Deuteronomy 32:39 “See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.”

Only God is God, no other.  Only God can give life and death, or heal people. (it isn’t from prophets or Jesus, but through them by God).

Exodus 8:10 “"Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God.”

Moses declares that there is no ONE like God.

Exodus 9:14 “I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.”

This is an important verse because it states that there is no one like God anywhere on the Earth…Jesus was on Earth, so Jesus couldn’t be like God, nor is he God.

Isaiah 43:10 “"You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.”

God chose him, and reaffirms that there is none after him. Jesus was created after, therefore he can’t be God.

Isaiah 44:6 “This is what the LORD says-- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.”

God states there is none but him, that he is the first and the last….so how can Jesus – on Earth, be equals to him?

Isaiah 45:5 “I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me.”

There is no other besides God.

Isaiah 45:20-22 Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save. Declare and set forth your case; Indeed, let them consult together.  Who has announced this from of old?  Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me. “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other.

No one can save anyone except God, because God says that he is the savior, and only God, and that there are none except him.

Isaiah 46:9 "Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.”

God has no other, none like him.

Jeremiah 50:34 “Yet their Redeemer is strong; the LORD Almighty is his name. He will vigorously defend their cause so that he may bring rest to their land, but unrest to those who live in Babylon.”

The ‘Redeemer’ is LORD GOD, not any other.

Mark 12:29 “"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”

Jesus is saying “our” God, not “me”.  This means God was above Jesus, and the Lord of Jesus.

Psalms 86:8 “Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.”

No god is like the LORD God, nor can anyone do as him.

Psalms 86:10 “For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.”

Only God is God.

Revelations 1:8 “"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."”

God says that he is the only…in the past, present and future.

Revelations 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

God says that he is the only…in the past, present and future.

2 Samuel 7:22 “How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.”

No one is like the LORD God, and there is no GOD but God.  It clarifies that there is not only no other god, but also no other (as in person).  Jesus is not like God, nor is he God. (See also 1 Chronicles 17:20 )

Qur’an 2:255 “Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

There is only ONE God – Allah. He doesn’t have human attributes or needs. He is eternal, always existing, knows all things in the past, present, and future.

Qur’an 3:51 “Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path.”

Allah is my God, and your God.

Qur’an 4:171 “O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Allah is not having a trinity, as he does not need help. Jesus was a messenger (given the word of God) and prophet.  Allah is one without partners, nor does he have a son. He can manage things by himself.

Qur’an 5:76 “Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allah who is the Hearing, the Knowing?"

Anything that is worshipped other than Allah is of no use, and does not benefit you.  Allah is the only one that is all-hearing, and all-knowing.

Qur’an 6:102 “That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things.”

There is no deity – only Allah. (Meaning no helpers or other forms of Allah)

Qur’an 6:100-103 “To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things. That is Allah, your Lord! there is no god but He, the Creator of all things: then worship ye Him: and He hath power to dispose of all affairs. No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.”

This verse tells us many things: 1- Allah does not have a son. 2- Allah knows all things and sees all things. 3- There is no deity but Allah. 4- Allah is the judge of all affairs. 5- No one can see God (in this Earthly life). 6- He is above comprehension, meaning that Allah is nothing like anything we can imagine.

Qur’an 6:106 “Follow, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you from your Lord - there is no deity except Him - and turn away from those who associate others with Allah.”

Allah tells Muhammad that there is no God but Allah, and not associate with those that worship anyone or anything else.

Qur’an 9:30-31 “The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah"; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded? They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.”

Allah explains how Jews said God had a son named Ezra. (Some of the Jews claimed this, but not all of them). The Christians claimed Jesus was his son, and the Christians went to the extent to claim Jesus was God.  He explains that they are only following the teachings of people, and not God, because God told them to only worship HIM.

Qur’an 25:3 “But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection.”

Allah rebukes those that worship others (creation), who are not able to create anything. Jesus was creation, yet by miraculous way, but still created, and should not be worshipped, because he is part of creation.

Qur’an 27:9 “O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Allah tells Moses, that He (God) is Allah. Allah tells his name so that he is not to be confused as any other.

Qur’an 29:17 “You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."

Allah rebukes those that pray to and worship others, telling them that it is all in vain, because only Allah can do what they are asking for.

Qur’an 42:11 “[He is] Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; He multiplies you thereby. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.”

Allah states that there is nothing like him, and that he is all-hearing and seeing. Man is not having these traits, and Jesus was a man.

Qur’an 43:57-59 “And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.”

Allah is stating that Jesus was a servant that he anointed (chosen and blessed).

Qur’an 57:3 “He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.”

Allah is stating that he is the first, last, and knows all things. Allah is eternal, always existing.

Qur’an 59:23-24 “He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”

Allah is the only deity there is, perfect, all-powerful, superior in every way, and nothing is comparable to him, and everything belongs to him.

Qur’an 112:1-4 “Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.”

Allah states he is the only God, always existing – eternal, is not born, nor does he have children, and nothing is comparable to him.
